Hi James, sorry I hesitated to subscribe, although I've watched you for a while. (don't worry, it's done now!). I just wanted to say I appreciate you being one of the few reviewers who kind of covers all price ranges. I find that a lot of people move to Montblancs or Pilot 823s and then never get back down to the budget range of pens (I do envy their budget though). Thanks James, and have a blessed day.

I didnt realise the swipe was 2 years old. It is a fantastic pen and alongside the huge TWSBI converter that holds an ungodly amount of ink means even if Im using the stub I can run it all day. I dont think Ive ever run out of ink even when Im writing ridiculous amount.

Hey JG, have you tried Bock Nib on this? If you have, please let us know. They were offering Bock Nib with it.

I also Have a Parker Vector Fountain Stainless steel About 17 years old and the ink and my pen is rights good in some specific paper i just wanna know is it happening to yours or is it just mine?.And it still writes good and i also have a parker vector rollerball in black its about 5 months old

Hello. would like to share an annoying fact. I notice that many of my nibs that i already tuned, write smoothly and pleasant but next morning i hear a sound on paper. I wouldn't say it scratchy but a very bad sound. So i tune them again. Do you have an explanation? I feel very disappointed if i have to tune the nibs over and over again. Shouldn't the tuning be permanent?

I got scammed on Facebook Market place trying to buy what I thought was a used Lamy Safari. The picture was of a Lamy Safari, markings clearly showing. A family member picked up the pen so didn't know any better. When they got home and handed me the pen, it was so very clearly different from the photo! For one, it was a demonstrator, had a different clip... and well turned out to be a Jinhao 559a. Worse that it was clogged with left over ink that no matter what I did wouldn't entirely come out and worse even still is that the ink made the end of the pen brittle so when I took the nib (which was weirdly completely blank) and feed out to try and clean the ink, bits of plastic just disintegrated and the pen was unusable :( I don't know what would possess someone to bother selling a completely different and unusable pen at a price that will make little to no difference to them financially. At least now I know some red flags to look out for and won't be making that mistake again!

Great review, I'm ordering one $9 today. If you like sardines and you happen to visit Spain, please visit Galicia and eat fresh caught sardines on the bbq. Living in Texas I can't say but, look for canned sardinillas, might find them.

Thank you for making the video. It is one of my choices being the other one is Leonardo MZ Blue Hawaii. The Leonardo is 50Usd more than the Delta here locally. Is the Leonardo better in terms of overall balance and writing experience? Should I get the Delta or go with the Leonardo. Both with same M steel nibs by JOWO. Any comments and suggestions from the viewers are greatly appreciated. I can only afford one. Thanks for the video James!

At one point of time i wanted to but this. But it's very over priced. And in that price range u have many other options which are better.

I have had a number of Delta pens before they disappeared some years ago, only to reappear. This is a beautiful pen at an affordable price for an Italian pen. I was worried that the company was going to rehash models previously made like the Dolce Vita but this is quite nice. It is something I can add to my "to get" list. Nice first impressions, James

Hi James! The Visconti Mirage mythos line is also an affordable, steel nib, Italian fountain pen. Compared to the Visconti, would you say that the nibs are comparable? Different? They're both #6 steel nibs. Thank you in advance!

Hi James, I have to say I'm already fed up of having Jowo nibs everywhere. Pen makers should seriously consider selling pens without nibs so we can stick whatever nib we like (Narwhal in my case) in them and get a beautiful pen like this at a better price, maybe 30 USD less? Sell me a modern Esterbrook without nib but with the adapter for vintage nibs and I'll be happy as hell 😀

The pen sure looks like my Conid Bulkfiller and it seems to me that we have two dissimilar cultural aesthetics coming out of China with their pens. Firstly there is the Chinese influence and this does not sell as well in western countries and secondly, there is the western copy which does not sell as well in China and parts of the Orient. This is my understanding of the rationale behind Chinese copies. It is not easy to create within an aesthetic which is alien. The interchangeable Bock nib is definitely a useful engineering choice. I refit my Conid with a Sailor nib and custom feed because the Conid/Bock Titanium nib that I chose for the pen was a bit of a noodle, soft without appreciable flexibility. The pen now has a cross nib. The Fontainbel is a bit crisper design.

Another really helpful review, thank you. I have ordered one in the all matte black, hoping that the grip will be a bit less slippery with the anodized surface. Like you, I like that the grip is wider than that of the very narrow Black Forest series pens (except the Black Forest Max, which is wider and has a #6 nib) of Hong Dian. I suspect I will prefer the Hong Dian #5 nib, which is very smooth with a bit of bounce. Have you ever tried using a #5 Hong Dian nib on a #5 Jinhao feed?

I just watched this again and you reminded me that I haven’t used my scriveiner edc this year at alll. I just grabbed it and guess what? It immediately wrote! That’s at least 6 months without use and immediately wrote.

How does it compare to jinhao 100 centennial? I have smaller hands so I’m afraid that my hands will tire out if it’s too thick.

The newer ones DO post, but I’m not sure of how new and how many of the old ones are still for sale. I bought 2 fresh m Amazon in the last month. One (green) posts perfectly and one (gray) doesn’t post.

I finally got me a 356 and I love it, great pen, good looking pen.

It's a very green teal, I keep thinking Monteverde California Teal minus the sheen. I have so many teals Idk if I can justify yet. I also find some of Wearingeuls seem dry to me, or in particular pens.
